The kids spotted the dalmation cross advertised under free in the classifieds. Not only had they noticed it , they had a red circle drawn around it and had to checked the phone book to discover that it is locally owned!
But we don't want a dog!
But it's free!
Free to get but expensive to keep.
But it's crossed with a kelpie!
So it'll be half intelligent.
So the conversation continued, but we stood firm [on the outside, cause inside both of us, we would dearly love to welcome a new pet into our home] because we really, really don't need another dog.
