Winery Walkabout

Last weekend was the annual Winery Walk about in the Rutherglen wine district. Mal and I were able to join a bus tour which visited several wineries as well as Rutherglen's main street for the market and festivities. The above photo was taken at our last stop, Mt. Prior Winery, which is not too far from where I live. How lucky am I too live so close to this wonderful scene, and to have the wineries so close all year around?
Although we can visit the wineries at any time during the year, there is something special about the atmosphere of the walk about weekend. Each winery has stalls, music and a huge crowd. To be able to taste wines at leisure, then hop back on a bus to do it all again, is just bliss.
