This is one of my favourite photos from my wedding, 28th November, 1987. My Dad was saying, "You don't have to go in, we can slip around the back". I was feeling a tad nervous, and his humour calmed me.
My Dad ended up in hospital this week, due to having a 'turn' while shopping. He was discharged after a few hours of tests and observation, and they are still not clear as to what happened. A partial heart attack was mentioned, but it will need to be investigated further, as he is only 65yrs.
Anyway, it got me reflecting a bit on my Dad. He has had an interesting life. Born in England, Married in Singapore and migrated to Australia with a young family in 1974. He has been in the airforce, worked in a prison, and elevated himself to a manager position, in a manafacturing company. He has raised three, now adult children and he is still very in love with his wife of almost 45 years, and that in itself is a lifetime achievement.
He is very much one of the diamonds in my life, and I need to ensure I take the time to acknowledge that, rather than allowing my daily business to fill my bucket with stones. [see quote below]

Gail what a truely lovely memory to have!
You are blessed to have such a wonderful Dad.
I will pray that they find out what happened when he had his "turn" but am sure it won't be anything serious.
Thanks for sharing this post with us.
