Church Camp

This weekend we went to Harrietville for our church camp. it was the first time that we had attended and I was amazed at the fact that nearly all of our congregation was there. Some were only able to come up for the day, but most stayed for one or both nights. The facilities were great for our requirements. There were plenty of activities for all ages. So while our teens enjoyed the heated pool, mini golf and bubbling stream, we were able to stroll off for lattes, relax with a book, or enjoy fellowship with friends.
The highlight of our camp was the attendance of missionaries, Ted and Nellie Hope. This couple have just retired from their position in Northern Thailand. It is where two of our young families have gone to continue their work. One of those families went to build the J.O. Fraser training centre, and as that is now being completed, they will return home next month. tyhe other couple have gone to teach at the centre and to share the Gospel, and another couple are now studying, and preparing to join them.
Ted spoke of our world view, of faithfullness and belief. He had a wonderful way of sharing and was a pleasure to listen to.
The other highlight was being able to relax as a family. Jess now only has four weeks before her baby is due, and so this was a lovely way of having some time together before our home life gets a bit busier.

Sounds like a great weekend Gail - it is great to spend time with the church family in such a relaxed atmosphere. - I think you get to know each other and share with each other so much more. We are heading off camping with most of our church family over Easter and I am looking forward to it too.

What a great photo! And you look like a skinny-minny too!

Have you lost weight?

So glad this camp went well! Would be interested to know about the food side of it. Did everyone chip-in and take turns cooking or did everyone take care of themselves?
